27th. midnight. (roughly) 4 full days away..

now i can countdown on one hand..

the joy that brightens a day: the pure delight on a child's face. the awe that humbles: seeing a night full of stars.. more specifically, seeing orion. recognising his characteristic 3 belt-stars reminds me of the sublime beauty of nature, while filling me with the familiarity of seeing an old friend - wherever i am in the world, whenever i see orion i feel i belong, one of billions beneath one sky..

the food that feeds the soul: music beautiful enough to move me to tears, stories that encompass more than life, that enlarges my soul (eg. lord of the rings), friends who care..

perhaps it's me, perhaps it's her. but whenever i'm in the presence of her, i always find myself thinking lots..

you know, it's probably her =] she just gets going, this wheel in my mind, seemingly drawing out and inspiring my best reflections/ideas/theories.. i find our conversations ranging from the heartfelt to the mundane to the intellectually stimulating.. such that i often feel that with her, my wit and ideas are honed to their sharpest edge.. and it's a waay cool thing to feel..

then again, perhaps it's also got to do with being in the company of understanding - one who's known you long enough to say, 'yes, i know' (not just 'yes, i understand) when i go 'oh you know..'; one who is as enthusiastic about the same things as i am (which confirms that phew ok so my taste isn't thaaat bad if someone else thinks the same way); one who never puts you down; and one who brings out the kindness and the niceness in me =]..

i only hope i am that sort of friend back to her, perhaps in not all of the above ways but a few. i will be satisfied with a few..
