i am getting SO sick of the radio ad they are (and have been) playing to promote Troy.

"A queen who betrayed her king.."

what sort of misogynistic, patriarchal crap is that? have they ever considered that Paris actually stole Helen from her husband? Why don't they try him for adultry instead?

or perhaps the possibility that Helen's marriage to Menelaus was merely political and likely loveless?

or that they were all pawns in a game played by the notoriously fickle Greek gods?

Ok, not that I have anything against Paris. In a way, I tend to think it was Aphrodite's fault .. or perhaps (*grin) it's just a male failing? haha..

That aside, I love the greek myths and legends. I adore them to death. I just hate the way everything changes after it goes through the hollywood machine, and after this terrible terrible radio ad, I'm so turned off, no one will able to drag me to watch Troy (even if it has Orlando Bloom, who unfortunately only looks good as Legolas.. *sigh).

So there.
