watched The Village with my mum today! apart from screaming school girls (i swear we were never that noisy when we were young), who enjoyed the screaming more than they were actually frightened, i enjoyed the show..

i would even go as far as to say it's m. night shyamalan's best. that said, i also enjoyed Signs (to my surprise) and The Sixth Sense, which perhaps grew in stature after comparing it with Toni Morrison's resonantly passionate Beloved for an essay.

i've said it before and i'll say it again, it's all about simple storytelling.
