Subtle, clean and refreshing, but more than a fragrance to me, this is a scent heavy with nostalgia and infused with memories of a trip to Boston--precious, dizzy, heady memories filled with lots of laughter, warmth and joy--making every spritz, every whiff a moment of smiles frozen in time.

queen of angst and melancholia that i am, i've been torturing and drowning myself in delicious misery by listening to Guang Liang's Tong Hua nonstop..

overall, on average, normally and usually, people describe me as 1) optimistic and 2) cheerful when in frequent reality, there are interminably long stretches of time when all i really, dyingly want to do is shut myself up with pen and paper, a good, sad book, incredibly weepy music and stay up till dawn like i used to do in my quiet, lonesome but uber cosy PGP room back in yr2.

there is a certain translucent, luminous beauty in incredible sadness. more than a happy ending where everyone ends up with the ones they love, my favourite stories are the depressing, heartwrenching ones. comedy is funny, but really it's about laughing AT someone. it's a joy gained at another's expense. when my Shakespeare proff said that, suddenly Twelth Night wasn't all that funny any longer.

i'm glad i'm reading again. no matter what it is. at least i'm reading again. i can't even begin to explain how good it feels.
